Located in Storuman Municipality
Stortjärnhobben lies 2.5 km south of the Umeälven river in Storuman Municipality, southern Lapland. The area forms part of the historical gold-bearing belt that runs through the interior of northern Sweden and is known as the Gold Line.
The Company’s exploration activity has been ongoing at the deposit since the early 1990s. Detailed drilling maps are available for download by campaign · see the source material below.
Seven documented campaigns
Stortjärnhobben has been investigated in seven documented drilling campaigns between 1997 and 2025. The 2024 and 2025 campaigns form the basis for the current mineral resource under the PERC Reporting Standard (2021 edition). Drilling maps by campaign are available for download in the source material below.
Historical campaigns have not been verified by the Competent Person under the PERC Reporting Standard (2021 edition). The current mineral resource is based on the 2024 to 2025 campaigns.
The path to trial mining
The Company holds a granted exploitation concession (Stortjärnhobben K nr 1), which confers the right to conduct mining within the concession area. The land designation and the environmental permit are examined in separate regulatory processes. The land designation is currently before the Land and Environment Court of Appeal after the Vapsten Sámi reindeer herding community (sameby) appealed; see permits and consultation. The details are communicated on an ongoing basis through press releases in our press archive.
Trial mining is planned during 2026. Processing of ore from the trial mining is planned at Dragon Mining Sweden AB’s Svartliden plant under a letter of intent disclosed via Cision on 11 December 2025.
